Email Snafu!
If anyone is trying to email me or visit my website, it is temporarily unavailable--should be fixed in 24 hours (I'm told). If you need to talk to me leave a comment here or call me: 206-853-2513.
Sorry about that.

Third Friday - April 17
My mom's first chemo is today, and I'm not sure if I'll need to be around for her this afternoon/evening or not; it depends on how sick she feels.
If I'm not needed, I'll probably be in the studio working on books and you're welcome to come by. Call first: 206-853-2513. (Yes, I found my cell phone...a good story in itself.)
Normal is coming.

First Tuesday
Some of you know that my mother has been seeing a lot of doctors lately; last Friday it was confirmed that she has cancer. We don't know for sure what the next step is, but so far the oncologist is being optimistic, and thinks she would respond well to treatment. We'll know more after this Wednesday, and I'll let you all know.
So there will be no art party as such on Tuesday, April 7. I may be in the studio a little later on in the evening, and if anyone wants to call, and then come by I'd be happy to see you. Things are too unsettled for me to be any more predictable than that at the moment. I hope to be back on the regular Art Party schedule soon. I miss you all!
Keep making art.

Brilliant - at least I think so...
Hello Artoids: While we are not getting together, check out this website. Call it a virtual Third Friday.
Thanks to Took for telling me about it.

No Third Friday this week
I'm sorry to have to cancel this Friday's Art Party. I will be at the doctor with an ailing family member that afternoon. First Tuesday should go on as scheduled April 7. I'll keep you posted.

Ist Tuesday...already?
Jeez, February messes me up! It's already first Tuesday tomorrow. Yes, the studio will be open. I've been playing with polymer clay lately, making some little shrine/house/window shapes for jewelry or embellishments or...something. I think I'll just leave that out for whoever is interested. There's clay, a couple of pasta machines to roll it out, some small cookie cutters, metal leaf, pearly metallic powder to brush on and other basic and less basic supplies. I don't think we'll cook them there; that can be done at home.
Other than that, there's always paper, glue and scissors. Books and/or collage are always possibilities.

No dolls tomorrow.

some weird and not-so-weird dolls
I'm postponing Weird Dolls, which was to have been tomorrow evening's entertainment. Life has been too chaotic around these parts and I have not had time to prepare. I think this will be a project that you'll enjoy and I don't want to go into it half-cocked, so tomorrow will be an unstructured drop in and do your own thing Third Friday. That doesn't mean you have to bring your own thing...there is plenty of stuff to do and plenty of stuff to do it with. One idea: if there are any books on my Book-A-Day blog that particularly interest you, I'll be very happy to get you started.
Thanks for your flexibility! Mental yoga is a good thing, right?
See you,
Liisa

First Tuesday tomorrow...
... and it's your last chance to get goopy. Or is that goofy? I don't know. Come make Valentines for your loved ones, liked ones, secret crushes, boss, neighbor, neighbor's dog...others?
Enough stuff will be provided for you to have a good time, but if you have special materials you want to use, bring them along.
See you after 5.
